I'll check that out, but I have a conjecture on what was happening: when I struggled last month to [unsuccessfully] undo all the badness that the online reconcile had done to my register, I wouldn't let it put in the 'correction' entry [because once I pull a bunch of old statements out of storage, I'm still hoping to get the register *right* again...sigh]. I'm guessing that because I never really "finished" the back-to-paper reconciliation, quicken didn't really switch over [and so *KEPT* further-trashing my register]. So this time I told to "OK" -- go ahead and put the one-thousand-dollar [!!!!] correction into the register, and someday soon I'll try to deal with the mess of figuring out how to get it working again.
} > [and how do I make it NEVER happen again]??? } } Can't help you here; just the obvious: don't check the wrong } buttons/boxes again.
Yeah -- I have used quicken for a long time now and never had this problem before, so I'm wondering just how 'online' got checked. But a word to the wise: Intuit *means*it* when they say that going from paper->online is a one-way street... it is proving to be *awful* trying to go back the other way.
