Quicken 2006 might be the best in a while

So far, my luck in the 1st 24 hours with Quicken 2006 premier has a lot of good benefits I didn't have in the 2004 deluxe version. I am not sure I yet see that much benefit for me that Premier offers over the deluxe version. Maybe I don't have enough money to worry about it

I especially like the ability to attach scanned receipts to transactions in the registers etc, and the new reports look like they might have a few new good uses. One thing I hadn't read about before was the renaming of payees from downloaded transactions. If you shorten a downloaded vendors name, evidently it will remember through renaming rules for all future downloads. I guess I'll have to see if that works correctly.

I just wish their customer service would of gotten a clue about the shipping time so we didn't have to play games with downloading the software and then later cancelling once they decided to get the CD here. I give their shipping process a "FFF", but the software so far is at least an A-.

Bruce,

Did you decide to download or did you finally receive the CD's?

I placed my order on 8/11; was scheduled to receive by no later than 8/24. I have yet to receive the CD's!

I got both actually. I did the download yesterday and now today Saturday I have the order I placed on Aug 11th. So maybe yours will now come.

I now have to let me credit card know that the charges are ok, since I placed a complaint and had them do a temporary credit. Then, I also have to call Intuit on Monday and get a refund on the downloaded version.

They caused a lot of grief being so slow in all this.

The main reason I upgraded Premier H & B 2006 was to be able to scan and attach receipts as described in the email solicitation I received.

When (finally!) I received the program, I found a coupon in the box that seems to say that I need to spend another $25 for a copy of SnagIt in order to get the "scan and attach" feature!

Huh???

Why did you have to download then cancel the download? I just downloaded it. Worked well for me, and I got the software as soon as it was released.

If you wish to scan images, you can use any software you like for scanning. If you own a scanner, you most likely already own scanning software. Further, Microsoft Office has a scanning module that comes as part of the Office Tools.
