Some time ago my toolbar disappeared from the Quicken window. I haven't figured out how to get it back. It's probably simple. Anyone have a clue?

I just figured out how to search the messages and found a fix.
Just in case the next reader of your post is not as smart as you in searching. In the Quicken Preferences for the registers, uncheck the "Maximise my register" checkbox.
