Quicken not updating certain stock prices

Same question that I asked in QLC: What stock? Because, when I create a new stock in the Security List, prices for that stock for the last 90 days or so get downloaded automatically.

The stocks are WMT and CSCO. These stocks are already in the security list, but I have traded them a few times.

So, let's say that I am down to 0 shares of WMT. I then buy 400 shares at say 70 during the day. I record it that evening. When I do the update, the price stays at 70. I think it all gets corrected when I update during the next trading session. Not sure if it would update if I did the update the next evening

When you record the purchase in the evening, are you Creating the price (in your Price History file) for that day, or changing one?

IF Q has already downloaded a price for the day (say $21) and you input a t ransaction for $20, the $20 is going to stick because Q only records a sing le price for a day in the QPH ... but in your investment list is will show as $20 no matter when you download.

It appears that is what happened. Anyway, I got the fix from the Quicken forum. Here is what worked:

Huh ? If you have the stock symbols in your Security List, and they are setup to Download Quotes via One Step Update, prices should be correct as per the stock closing prices.

If you manually enter a buy/sell at a certain price, that is merely a point entry.. in the stock's price timeline which you can see in the Stock Price History

Guess I don't understand your question ?

Tools --> Security List --> is your stock checkmarked for Download Quotes ?

Click on your stock --> then --> Update --> Edit Price History you should see the price entries that have been downloaded.
