reset online ID

Using Quicken Deluxe 2014 I need to change my online account ID and password so I can continue to download my transactions. Change password is available but online account ID is grayed out.

How do I change the account ID? Do I need to deactivate and reactivate online services to change the account ID?

Thanks.

I think the connection method determines whether you need to deactivate the account for downloading to change the "account ID" (by which, I assume you mean what Quicken calls the "Customer ID"). If deactivation is required, you won't have access to the Customer ID until you deactivate.

Click the Edit button of the account in the Account List; that will bring up the Edit Account Details dialog. In that dialog, the Customer ID is on the Display tab. If the Customer ID is accessible, just modify it. If the Customer ID is inaccessible, you need to deactivate first - and that option is on the Online Services tab of the same dialog.

Changing the password does not require deactivation - it is normally done via Tools > Password Vault ... though when you deactivate/re-activate, you'll likely need to supply the password during the re-activation process. And, I believe that changing the Customer ID will require re-entering the password, regardless.

Thank you. I ended up needing to deactivate and reactivate. But it went smoothly.

Thank you. John.
