USA TODAY is not impressed. I will buy this thing anyway and not because I need the upgrade. I am concerned that Intuit will stop supporting Quicken, just like Microsoft did with Money.

Hi, David.

Me, too.

Just like you said: If Intuit ever stops producing Quicken - because nobody is buying it anymore? - what other product can we use?

Amazon.com is selling Premier for $105. Exactly one year ago, I paid $80. That is a rather steep increase in price.

Um, maybe I should wait a week or two.

I don't always buy the new Quicken version, but If I remember correctly, last year I bought a Quicken / Turbo Tax combo package. Since I always buy Turbo Tax and since the combo wasn't too much more money than Turbo Tax alone, I elected to buy it.

The combo package came out much later than Quicken alone, so I'll wait again to see what sort of a deal there may be on it this year.

Hi, Ken.

Yes, a new Quicken can come out at any time, but TurboTax needs to wait until Congress says that they are through revising the Internal Revenue Code for this year. Even after that, of course, they probably will make some more tweaks and Intuit will have to issue updates for the current year's TTax. This year, the "Government Shutdown" will probably delay issuance of TurboTax 2013 even later. I like to buy it as early as I can each year so that I can plug in estimated numbers and do some tax planning before year-end. Then I'll finish it when final software - and final facts - are known after the year has closed.

But we can't buy the TTax/Quicken combo pack, or get the TTax discount-on-Quicken coupon, until Congress has let the dust settle on the tax code - at least tentatively.

I haven't seen even the 2014 Quicken in stores yet, but I didn't shop for it this week.

I haven't either, but Amazon is already listing it.

Same here, although thepricing on Amazon is screwy. $75 for electronic download, $50 for a box delivered free in 2 days using Prime.

I look for the combo package as well - so, when you see it, will you post a note here so we can find it? I always try to wait for the combo.

Price just went down to $70 plus tax from Amazon. Yay! I just ordered my copy. Long live Quicken!

I don't want to start a slew of 'me toos', but since no one I think has reported seeing this in any local store, I'll venture this post.

Q 2014D was in my local Staples as early as this past Monday, 30 September.

I always get the combo, I find it's usually at Costco about as early as anywhere, I'm guessing by mid-November maybe?

Costco usually has a fairly good price on the combo...

No promises, but I'll try to remember to do that.

It should be in Costco then. I'll check on my next trip.
