Hi Iain
You say you may have to consider me "dubious source of info". Well I can honestly say I don't think you can't ever have learnt much about information about phones from me. OTOH I have learnt a lot from your GSM web pages.
In the case of 18866 I am sceptical. I am rather suspicious of a company which charges almost nothing for its services and asks its customers to sign continuous credit agreements with an anonymous overseas company. It's too weird to be seen as normal.
I have posted, at length sometimes, the basis for my suspicions. I have not made up any "facts". My info should not be seen as dubious as I have given links to any sources.
I know that many here in these groups, perhaps including yourself, are very happy with the service from 18866. I am a customer of
18866 too and I am happy with the dirt-cheap service. But it just doesn't seem to add up.A parallel example might be an ultra-cheap net-based fax service (assuming nothing like TPC
I have been involved in setting up anonymous overseas companies. I can say categorically that no one sets up an anonymous overseas company to trade in the UK without a reason.
