Anyone for a credit card with 49.9% APR variable?

I had a piece of junkmail this morning from a company called Vanquis offering me a credit card with an APR of "from 29% to 49.9% APR variable"!! Their catch phrase is: "The credit card that helps you stay in control"! Yeah, really!

Well it's a great incentive to pay off the total each month.

Yeah... perhaps it's awareness of the 49% APR that 'helps you stay in control' ;-)

I'm think that if one had a poor credit history and it is his card or nothing, using it and paying it off would go some way to repairing the situation.

I applied for one via a cashabck site and got £20 cashback (still being tracked at the moment). I have no intentions of using the card as I have an Egg money card that pays 1% cashback although I may put through the odd M6 toll charge of £3.50 once a month and clear the balance when the statement arrives.

The T&Cs state no annual fee and up to 56 days interest free period. So long as the balance is cleared at the end of each month it doesn't really matter what the interest rate is as 49.9% of nothing is the same as 5.9% of nothing. :)
