  1. We are told that from 14/1 mag stripe skimming will be virtually a thing of the past, at least in the UK. (see other threads for a discussion on export of stripes)


  1. We are told that Online Shopping is growing in leaps and bounds.



It will be interesting to see how the card fraud figures change as the fraudsters reorganise. How much will online card fraud go up compared to the rate of increase of online shopping etc.

Which is why the banks are looking at verification devices for Customer Not Present transactions. Amazingly, they even seem to be talking to each other so you won't need a device per bank (although who will directly pay for the device is unclear).
