company formation from abraod ?

Hello!

I know many businesses propose company formation services and many of them propose, as an option, to open a bank account for you.

As I don't live in UK, I'm very interested in these services to establish my own business but I wonder if I can really trust them about the bank account option, as it seems stange that banks do accept to open an account so easily.

Anyone have good or bad experience to share about this ? Thanks LC

They don't.

UK banks will not open an account unless the signatories are present an can provide proof of identity.

It is possible, however, for me to open an account with myself as sole signatory and "controller" of everything to do with the account. I could then say to you that this account was for keeping your money. I could even call it "your" account. You would be right not to trust me. There are, however, reputable regulated companies who operate client accounts. From the tone of your post I get the impression that the company offering the service is neither reputable nor regulated.

With regard to establishing your own business, that is always your job. Other people can set up accounts, register companies and charge professional fees, but it is up to you to establish the business. Consider working for a few months as a sole trader before you consider forming a company. Also, do what you can yourself (see

for information about registering a company).

I know but, as said, I live abroad and it might be quite difficult to come. And I don't see how I could establish the company myself, from abroad, if I don't use any company formation service.

If I do this, I would depend of my country's labour and, most of all, fiscal laws. And, believe me, UK is a lot less expensive on that point.
