That's rather along the same lines as a letter we got from the BBME many years ago which said something like ".... due to increased efficiency we're raising our charges."

I wonder a) if this is true, and if it is, b) what the criteria are for deciding which customers get screwed and which don't?!

Yes, will be interesting to see if the "light" users get to keep the 1% or are the very ones who loose it..
Have to admit I haven't been spending much on my Circle card recently so we will see...
Overall its not good really though - they should really treat their entire customer base the same.

I concur .. I've already switched major spending to Amex Blue. However I =was= a heavy Circle Card user, so we'll see if it was my sort who were scheduled for the snip, or not.
