04: HOLD-CALL (CC Error Message)

I have researched the Hold-Call issue on source, but can not find any info. I know this is all cc setup related, but if anyone has any info on what exactly the Hold-Call error is, this is usually helpful when working with the issuing company.

That is what I guessed, however in this situation I am actually using test plastic in a test environment. I did not put that in b/c I did not want to sway the responses.

What I have learned:

First data: zero help - had to explain what test plastic is and why people use it

TSYS: amazing - explained that test plastic should always receive an invalid response error code. I explained that my last batch of plastic did not error out, but that we had bridged a gateway. She said that gateways would give us what we wanted, swiped card, no error code, all test.

Oh, and to explain why I even bothered w First Data: Citibank is our processor. In order to maintain our relationship, they agreed to always keep and set us up on the Vital platform. However, on the bottom of my new merch #s, the phone listed routs to First Data. Additionally, I think they know very little about their own test plastic. They just drop shipped a bunch (and by bunch I mean more than 30) of cards with no release form or indication of coded approvable transaction amounts. Last cards had some crazy amount like .78 charge and .23 return - indicting the cards were in test mode.

Have you ever had Citi bridge a test gateway?
