barcoding items

My technician cannot get my Cognitive barcode blaster to work with our RMS system to create barcodes.

Please advise what equipment has been successful in printing scannable labels with the POS system.

I use Code 128A barcodes for all items. I print labels in two sizes: standard mailing label and a custom 4.25x5.5, both directly from RMS using a variety of regular laser printers (HP, Brother, Lexmark). I use MetroLogic

9520 scanners at the POS terminals and a Symbol MC9000 Pocket PC scanner for inventory/receiving. Never had a problem with either scanner.

I had a Zebra barcode printer but eBay'd it after realizing it was just an expensive and complicated way to accomplish a task that could be effectively performed for less money and with fewer complications by the hardware I already had.

Good luck, Tom

Kathy,

What's the problem?

If you wish to use the RMS Label designer, install the printer using Cognitive's Windows driver and design a new label, as there is no pre-designed label for that printer.

If you wish to have more control over the label design, install the printer with the Windows Generic/Text only driver and select the BB1x2 or BB2x2 labels for starters, as samples.
