When you swipe credit card and press Enter, you may press "." or "/" button at the same time. This character enters into the front of the CC numbers and guess what the transaction gets approved. But when you try to settle EDC, it gives you an error and it does not settle. In SO 1.2, you could go into SQL and fix the credit card numbers. But now with the new law, CC numbers are not accessible.
I contacted Microsoft but they blamed it on Vital who actually approve these CC transactions. Vital has the CC numbers stored in their database but they would not help me settle. Microsoft , with all that money and power, does not help a little guy like me either. My merchant bank has no trace of it. So I have lost several transactions because of this flaw in the software. The only solution to not let it happen again is split CC tenders by type and enter stone-age validation like '4#*' for Visa WHICH THE SOFTWARE MANUAL DOES NOT SPECIFY.
Microsoft is slow in updating this software because they do not listen to our needs. I mean why is the Newsgroup the best place to get better information about this software??
