I need comparsion between Microsoft retail management system and Landsteinar for resturant and supermarket solution

I have never heard or seen Landsteinar, but I can tell you RMS is NOT a solution for a Restaurant environment. RMS will handle most requirments for a Supermarket.

I own a market, and we use MS RMS. It works great! I just looked at the Landsteinar system, and I can tell you, I wouldn't put it in my store if they paid me. The system doesn't have, in my opinion, a user-interface that integrates into workflow seemlessly. It looks like the wanted a feature-rich software product, but couldn't translate those features into functional store-level ops.

Best of luck.

Rob,

RMS 'can' be a solution for a restaurant environment (admittedly not out-of-the-box), all that is really required is a Hospitality addon from a

3rd party, which of course should also be evaluated at the same time as RMS itself.

You can't really do tips, split out checks, basically the workflow isn't designed for a restaurant and I bet you others could add a few more things. RMS Store does have an addon for Restaurants but I have not looked at it deeply. There are much better designed systems for a restaurant.
