I have just installed RMS V2 and SQL Server Express onto a stand alone pc but I cannot get get the RMS to connect to the server. The error message reads 'Specified SQL server not found. Coonection Open (Connect()).' Any help in resolving this issue would be appreciated.

Check on SQL Express that tcp/ip connections are enabled, and the default instance to connect

Is there a network card on this PC and is it connected to an active connection of some sort?
you need to restart manually the service ...
do you have also tried to establish the connection to
COMPUTERNAME\SQLExpress ?
this is the default settings of sql express on standard installation..

What you can try is putting the name of the computer.. 'computername\sqlexpress' put this in the server drop down box Store operations adminstrator. This should get you going after verying that sql services are running.
