Error in X/Z report when computer crashes

We are having a problem that when a transaction is being carried out at a register and the computer crashes after the transaction is complete but before the receipt prints, the transaction is not shown on the X/Z report or in the journal but is shown in the batch reports and if it is a charge sale, the transaction is shown on the customers account.

This does not happen often but is a big problem when it does happen as the reports do not reconsile.
