Gift Certificates

Is there a way to enter two gift certificates on the same transaction?

In manager, tender types, checkmark "allow multiple entries" for your gift card tender. Craig

Almost forgot, you will have to Z out each POS machine before it will work. Craig

There's a bug in doing that. You can enter the same gift card twice and RMS won't know if you've exceeded the Card Balance with the second entry. IOW - RMS doesn't calculate the new balance after the first cards entered.

Why would you enter the same card twice? Only use one entry per card. Theres no reason to break the same card into two entries on the same transaction. You would only need to use the second line if the customer has more than one gift card and wants to use them both on the same transaction. Craig

It's a way that cashiers would be able to steal. The point was that the system does not PREVENT the same voucher being used twice on the same transaction - not that you would want to do that in the normal course of business. Unfortunately, we live in a world where you have to think about things like that...

Good point, I guess it depends on how trustworthy or devious your cashiers are. They would also have to know that the ability to do that exists. Fortunately, we have a tenders report to show us what our cashiers are doing, and if they are that untrustworthy, we can show them the door. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that can trust my employees, they've proven it many times, however I still keep a close eye on them. Craig
