Matrix item's Default Quantity is set to 1 Bug

RMS SO 2.0

When you create a new matrix item or add a dimension to an existing matrix item it wrongly sets the default Quantity on Hand and Quantity Available to

1 for all the products within the Matrix.

I'm surprised that nobody else mentioned this in this NG since this causes huge inventory problems!

When I reported this to MS they replied with the following:

"The issue on matrix item's quantity that defaults to '1' is a known bug and has a fix request already."

Since MS refuses to publicly make available a list with "Known Problems/Bugs/Issues" I would suggest that people post these type of responses from MS in this NG so other RMS users don't have to waste their time reporting already reported problems.

Alex and Todd,

I had this same problem and agree that it causes huge inventory problems, mostly because as much as we might try, we would never be able to go back and set those quantities to 0 manually and make sure that we got them all.

Akber in a post below gave me a SQL code that worked well to resolve this issue. Although I take the warnings to use SQL codes carefully very seriously, we unfortunately have to make this program work now. There are three main problems that I have found with the New Item Wizard and Matrix items in 2.0. The first was the quantity issue (where all new items were given a quantity of 1). The SQL code from Akber fixed this. The second was that even after assigning a barcode in the matrix field, the individual items for that matrix were not assigned a barcode. Again, I used a SQL code from Akber to fix this. The third issue, which I posted a query about earlier tonight, deals with the fact that the attributes assigned to the matrix (color, size and style) are not put into the fields for the individual matrix items. No fix on this yet.

Any other bugs out there I have yet to discover? ......I hope not :),

Just some thoughts, Kat
