Modifying Global Customers at the Store Level

We have enabled Global Customers but now we cannot modify customer info at the stores once the customer has be created.

The had caused problems when a customer has moved to a new address or we want to add their email address.

Any solutions?

Thanks,

Dan

We're running 1.3r and HQ and have not implemented Global Customers (although, we want to) for this very reason - once you do we didn't think that you could edit the customer's data at the store level without an "add-on" package (reviewed them, not at all thrilled with the choices). So, if I read this correctly, once I go into SO Admin and change the Customer Options we'll be able to implement Global Customers AND be able to edit the customer's record at the store level to update their address, phone, email, etc.?

Can anyone else confirm this?

HI, you not really need the add-on to update the information at store for the customer who are global to your entire orgnization. you can create/edit the global customer at store or at HQ level no prolem in this.

So it is c> We're running 1.3r and HQ and have not implemented Global Customers

HI, do you have any security enable may be that is what it is restricting you, what about the fields are they enabled or disable, what about buttons??? this might causing to update customer info. also make sure from HQ you have run the sync so it will update the relavant information.

You can add new global customers at the store and edit the information until the store processes a 401 worksheet. Once the 401 is processed, the customer's records will be locked at the store but updatable through HQ. I have not checked this in V2.0 yet, but as far as I know this is still the case. There are several 3rd party add-ins available that will allow you to get around this - check with your reseller for additional information.

This is a very irritating 'feature' of RMS in a multi-store environment...

Retail Realm Store and HQ Utility includes the ability to update and change the Global Customer if the person is authorised.
