Change Global Customer to Local

- All of our 85 stores create customers as local. - 1 store changed a customer (after 1 yr of activity) to global - global customer has moved to all other 84 stores - AR is getting messed up - global customer must be deleted

Question: - I know I can change the global customer status back to local on the 1 store that should have the customer - Can I then run a worksheet 601 against the global customer to delete it from all stores w/out effecting the original store (once customer is set back to local)

I would:

Issue a query from HQ setting the customer to local at all stores. Issue another query from HQ deleting the customer record from all stores

*except* the originating store. Delete the customer at HQ (no WS601 - just find/delete).

Hi Tom,

So you think I can script the customer to Local for all locations using a

51, then turn around and delete from customer where accountnumber = 'x' via a 51?

That is a great idea. I was trying to think about how I would get around the whole 401 running prior to a 601 and moving that data.

Why not? I presume that no transactions at other stores use this customer.

Just make sure you don't delete the customer at the originating store...

Glad to be of service, Tom

Tom,

I actually tested this out today and it works wonderfully. I set the query high to eliminate any chance of accidential deletion of another store's customer because they assign similar account numbers. I think I will be running live tomorrow and I will let you know how that gores.
