Is there a way to configure RMS software in order for my cash draw to pop out on its own. I have this for a few day and I can't seem to figure this thing out. My sales rep seems to take for ever to get back to me.

Are you OPOS or Window Drivers? What printer are you using, Epson, Star or something else? Is your Cash drawer plugged into your printer?
Rob
Country,
Need to know the make and model of the cash drawer and receipt printer and how both connect to your computer.
Could be as simple as selecting a checkbox in your Tender Type(s) or as complicated as installing a driver for it.
Option 1 In the Printer Preferences of the Printer driver check to make sure that either the Top of Document or Top of Page is set to open CashDrawer1.
Option 2 Modify your Receipt Template to include this informaiton: Paste snippet below somewhere outside of another sub routine
tbNone "EPSON" "^~" PageWidth "A"
Paste snippet below with the other call statements at the bottom of the file. "KickDrawer"
Rob
Rob thanks for the info. Option 2 is a little over my head, is there a simpler way.
Control Panel --> Printers and Faxes, right click on the Epson printer driver and choose Properties. Then click on the Printer Preferences button and another window will appear. The far right tab, if I remember correctly, should be Document. In there you should have 4 big buttons called 'Top of Page', 'Top of Document', 'Bottom of Document' and 'Bottom of Page'. Click on the 'Top of Page' button and there is a drop down list with an option to Open Drawer 1, make sure that is selected.
If you don't see any of this information you may not be using the latest Epson Window Drivers. Those can be downloaded from
Rob
Also if you are using the generic 40 Column Receipt template I can email you a copy of the receipt that includes the KickDrawer command. Just put your email in a post like this.... roba at 2020its dot com ...if you are afraid of spam.
Rob
Country,
I don't do Epson printers and Rob does. Follow his instructions.
I have had issues with using Epson Windows drivers to open cash drawers. Specifically APG cash drawers. It would work fine for a week and then start working intermediately. I switched over to OPOS drivers and no more issues so if it was me I would download and install the OPOS drivers for the Epson printer.
After that, make sure the respective tender types are configured to pop the cash drawer. manager > database > tender types > properties
Make sure the cash drawer is enabled for the register. Manager > Database > Registers > Register List > Pr> Is there a way to configure RMS software in order for my cash draw to pop out
Thanks Brad you are a life saver. The guys that sold me this pos system can't even help out.
Thanks aga> I have had issues with using Epson Windows drivers to open cash drawers.
Country,
Report 'em to MS. Maybe we can weed out some of the poorer RMS resellers. You might also consider changing your reseller of record at MS too. MS likes to track that kind of stuff.
A tech came over to the office to fix a virus and he ended re-installing windows.... the only good thing is he copy my data but now my RMS donsen't work and the original company who sold me the RMS is out of business... My employees are charging customer with a calculator on hand, I going crazy, please HELP IS WANTED!
Thank's

I hope he just installed RMS and did not format your hard drive. In any case I suggest that you find another reseller in your area to give you a hand. Contact me if you want some help.
You can find another RMS Reseller here...
