Check your database server connectivity. It could also be a networking problem, if the database is on another machine.

Hi, jason

Thanks for the reply. We already check the connection to the database it appear okay. The thing is when they trying to connect to the server it will connect for a while then the connection will timeout. We already check the connection/networking, database, theres is no 3rd party software involve that can cause, even virus. All of these are already been done. We also tried reinstalling the RMS and SQL but it cause the same problem. Thats why we decided to reformated the machine. After that , the machine is running okay. But the problem is every other day there are 2 or 3 store having the same problem. Its hards for our client to reformat 150 stores. This problem occur after we implement the RMS service pack 3. Any help you can give? Thanks n advance!

By the way...where you from? thanks for the suggestion. I really appreciate your reply. Good day!

Hi Dexter,

I havn't heard of any problems with SP3 yet.

In Administrator, check the Connection Timeout setting. The default is 15, but you could try increasing it to something like 30.

You showed two errors in your original message, do they appear one after another, or are they happening at separate times? Either way, the message tells you that it's losing the database connection. The hard part is finding out why. Unfortunately I've never ran in to this type of problem before, so all I can suggest is doing some research on SQL Server/MSDE and looking for suggestions based on those error numbers.

If worse comes to worse, you could try re-installing and going back down to SP2 to see if it fixes the problem, but that's difficult if there are many stores involved.

Also, I'm from Hamilton, Ontario (Canada). How about yourself?

Hi Jason,

Currently we are now analyzing the problem. Yes it appear one after another.Yes losing database connections is the harder part without knowing where the problem was. Also as up now where researching the SQL server looking for possible answer. We already check the database name but it appears okay. Anyway jason thanks for the reply.

I'm from the Manila, Philippines. By the way can I ask for your email address or YM address so that I can email you and chat with you anytime. Just only to be friend on RMS solutions. If you only like, just email me at dexter snipped-for-privacy@infosoft.com.ph and my Yahoo messenger address is d_vanzuela. If not, it is okay. Once again thank you!

We have a similar intermittant problem. We get the same error as you describe in #1. At the bottom, it also reads, " "SELECT GETDATE() AS CurrentDateTime"

This seems to happen when we leave store > Hi, everyone!

Ron,

Do you have a screensaver or is the machine setup to go into power saving mode? If so, turn them off.
