OPOS vs. Windows Driver

Why is it when I select OPOS as the printer type for a receipt the receipt prints a totally different font size and some of the layout is different (for example it appears the "|" columns are ignored).

I would like to use the OPOS driver as the software from the printer allows for some special features we'd like to take advantage of.

The printer is the TSP100futureprint

Thanks for any pointers.

I agree it's a great printer. We would like to take advantage of the "coupon" placement and keyword functions of the OPOS driver, but until I can figure out why the receipt is so jacked up, ain't nothin' happenin'

Any pointers on the printer setup?

Does OPOS just ignore the settings from the POS system and use its own?

I'm about to start pull> That is the printer we are using but I am not having that problem I dont

The OPOS driver will use the internal fonts stored in the printer's firmware.

TIP: If you are using Epson OPOS drivers with the default 40 column recept template in RMS, your receipts will be more legible with this tweak. Run Manager, Databases, Receipt Formats, select 40 column, Properties, Sales, Properties. Change the "Default" CPL and "Small" CPL entries from 44 to 42. Save your changes to all formats when prompted. Exit POS if already running and return. Now your receipts will print with noticeably larger text without using up more paper. This is because most Epson receipt printers default to 42 characters per line when using their internal fonts. 44 causes the lines to print in condensed format.
