Receipt is badly formatted when choosing OPOS driver

Hi all,
Initially I was creating my receipt and configure the Receipt Printer with Windows driver from the Store Manager
However i found out that when i attach a cash drawer to printer, the only
way for my receipt to be able to print and the cash drawer to kick is to use OPOS driver
Now my receipt font is in a mess: - the header logo wont print - font sizes are not the same as what windows driver print
I tried modified the Arial font size but it doesnot differ too much
All fonts printed appear to have the same size whether i have specified 8, 10, or 20 in the receipt template
Does the font CPL (character Per Line) setting affect anything if I have already set my font size. I am using star TSP143
I am trying to use Arial 8 font size..
Pls help

Good morning Joie, Thank you for posting your cash drawer question. I am not sure what Windows drivers you were initially using; but if you were using the Raster drivers from Star you should be able go to the driver properties and select the "Raster Print Options" tab. Under this tab, go to the "Cash Drawer" section and then proceed to "Drawer 1 action / timing". Select "Document Bottom". This will send an instruction to the printer at the end of every document (print job) that tells the printer to open its cash drawer. I am not sure what fonts are supported on the printer you are using; but as far as CPL the larger the number the smaller the font size. Even though you are trying to decrease the font size you should be able to modify the steps in the following Knowledge Base article to do what you need: How To Increase the Font Size on a Receipt When Using an OPOS Printer https://mbs.microsoft.com/knowledgebase/KBDisplay.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;859783
Hopefully this helps. Todd Berger Microsoft Online Support Engineer
