Need help configuring cash drawer to Star TSP143 thermal printer

Hi all

I have been trying to connect a cash drawer to this printer but i cant seems to get it working Does anyone has a step by step way to configure star TSP 143 printer to work with cash drawer ??

My RMS is v2.0 I use Star TSP 143 thermal printer (I hope most of you have it cause its one of the popular printer for RMS). I have been testing with 2 cash drawers (brand "Eutron" and brand "Cashine"). I have the correct cable and connect it to the drawer kick (DK) port of the printer. Drawers are new and unlocked

I installed the printer driver. configure it to use Starline Mode (default)

Under the OPOS setting - OPOS Cashdrawer I add a name to my Cash Drawer, click configure and let everthing on default except I make the Setting "Active" checked.

Then i click on check health it say "Success" But when I tried the sample application from the star configuration utility, the drawer wont kick

When I start Store Operation i get this error Warning 911L The cash drawer OPOS driver was not found Do you wish to continue?

So am i missing some driver ? where can i get it Or do you think this cash drawer will work only with EPSON printers ??

I really have no clue here. I thought cash drawer should be the easiest to setup Please help

Thank you, Regards Joie

It seems now that the cash drawer can work from the Star TSP configuration utility Test Print function - OpenDrawer1

However I Cannot get it to kick after I complete a transaction in RMS. Printing is fine

Here's my configuration Receipt printer 1 -> tried using Windows driver and OPOS driver (the device has the same name) both can print but cash drawer cant kick Cash drawer 1-> put the OPOS name as in Star configuration utility ( I tried the device name and the logical device name, both didnt work)

pls help

We experienced problem with the detection of that printer. We are on VISTA and the UAC was on (it's a network policy).

When we turned it off, RMS was then able to detec and use it correctly. What is weird, though, is that Group Piliciy enforced the UAC again later on but the printer and cash drawer were still functionning properly.

My take > It seems now that the cash drawer can work from the Star TSP configuration
