STAR printer

I am giving up on my Epson receipt printer.

I plan to buy a STAR printer. Which model is the closest to PLUG-N-PLAY that I can get.

I read about the TSP700 but all I can find is the TSP743. What do all the letters in the model # mean?

I have an AGP cash drawer.

Thanks!

Mickie,

The TSP 743 is the only model they make in the 700 series. You will need to decide how to connect it to the computer, parallel, serial, USB, wired network or wireless network and order that model.

When you download the drivers, get the Raster driver.

You need to contact AGP and see if there will be a problem with your drawer and the Star. Star sends a 24 volts out to open the drawer and Epson only sends 12 volts out. I don't sell AGP drawers, so I don't know.

Oh well,

If I have to buy another cash drawer, which one is the best for STAR?

I plan to hook up the printer as a parallel since that is what I am replacing. My barcode scanner is USB.

Mickie,

Just contact AGP first. It may not be a problem or they may have a simple fix like a cable swap or something.
