Note to all RMS users: Quickbooks online has no import function for .iif files.
My accountant and I [unwisely] decided to switch to QB online so we could both work on our accounting file. Now we are somewhat stuck with the decision (for a lot of reasons-not important).
I used to import .iif files from RMS to QB to do the daily journal entry. Now I have to enter everything manually - a real pain the in a$$. Does anyone have a workaround for this?
does QB Online allow import of ANY file types?

Nope. They say that third party add-ins "may" be available. I have been unable to locate any such add-ins.
I think I am stuck... It's going to take a manual journal entry for each location for each day/batch. Yuck.
I guess the next step would be a real clean "Z" type report that just gives me the accounts to enter on the journal entry. I can read the .iif file created by Post Closed Batches, but i don't want to trust my staff to read the lines right and create a journal entry in QB from it...

Since IIF is not really helpful to you, I would suggest having RMS Export in "RMS XML" format instead. This will create an XML representation of the same account, debit and credit information as produced in the IIF format. XML is not necessarily easier to read than IIF, but it can be 'styled' into html using XSL/XSLT. You can also load XML directly into Excel, but I'm not sure if that would be any more human readable or not...
