RMS 2.0. upgrade or downgrade?

i been waiting for RMS 2.0 for months and thats why i paid around $700 for the plan as it ended few days before. I just installed RMS. its the same thing. no new features, reports, buttons, importing tools and looks exactly the same. Can i return the maintanance plan. i dont get anything out of it? i get more from the addon's which i really shouldn't have to buy. Can someone recommend any other pos software??!!

why is microsoft so slow with RMS. do they want us to start looking for other pos softwares or keep us as customers? Mr G... do something.

If it did not do what they said it would do, I'd use my powers as a consumer and dispute the charges with my credit card issuer. Unfortunately, it seems like RMS 2.0 does exactly what it claims to do, which is virtually nothing in addition to 1.3 except cramping your licensing rights.

Let's call it what it really is - RMS 1.4. It's just a big scam to keep you on a maintenance plan.

Manoj what are you expectations? Version 2 has improved Matrix, has improved PO and Matrix, and has resolved quite a few bug. More importantly MS has announced V3 for early next year which is the complete re-write in DotNet with a lot of new features. Also microsoft is creating a platform. This means that there will be more and more 3rd part addons to verticalise the product to address more retail sectors. I don't think that is bad, I believe that is good for all concerned.

Afshin,

The improved matrix does not work properly. Try using it with an upgraded database and 30+ items in a matrix. I reverted to 1.3r last night. I can't afford to use a half baked improvement. As much as I like the attention MS has given to addressing some of the more major concerns of it's customers, ie. Matrix improvements, and eliminating the dongle, including 2 free support incidents, and AVS, it obviously has not been fully tested.

I understand - and if you are on 1.3 stay on it ifyou wish until MS fixes the bug. But if you are a new site you can use the matrix without the data conversion issues. Also like all new releases as much as you try to test itin house it is difficult to resolve all issues until you release the software and find out in real world what happens. My suggestion is make sure to talk to your reseller and also to your local MS rep. But I epect we will see some fixes to 2.0 soon.

Could someone give details as to what is not working with matrixes? I am currently testing 2.0. So far the only problem I have found is the inventory set to 1 for new matrix items. I have a large environment (over

17000 SKUs) with many 50+ item matrixes. So far ok, but I would welcome hearing other's experiance.

Thanks,

TomT

That's how my partner explained it to me, mulitple quantities that you have to delete manually when creating matrix items. Not a big issue at all in her opinion.

It is beyond that. The database upgrade does not upgrade properly. Check ALL of your pre-upgrade Matrix items, especially ones you have added items to after they were initially created, but before the upgrade.
