RMS on a Domain

After successfully setting up a StoreOPts on a XPPro machine we now are ready to switch over to running on a Domain so we can use existing company Sql2000 server. We now get an error running RMS unless we login to domain as a user with admin.privilages. We need to have both Mgr and Cashiers as 'non-admins' logins.

I think you can have domain logins that are less than administrator, but the domain account must be added to the admin group on the local machine.

you might want to explain what error you are getting and when it shows up, but just guessing I would say that your SQL Server is configured to use Windows Authentication only. RMS requires Mixed Mode authentication. You can see the setting in SQL Enterprise Manager - check SQL Server books online for steps to switch modes (that's assuming you survive telling your enterprise DBAs they need to enable SQL logins :)

If this is not the issue, post back with some more details on the error you receive and what action triggers it...

0xc0...22) right after I click> you might want to explain what error you are getting and when it shows

Sorry NcS, but i still don't get it, can u explain it further in points? RMS works fine in a domain wihtout the need to give the users admin rights, but i just want to understand your scenario

NcS,

I guess u have something to do with your system folder permission, plz check the System32 permissions and make sure that u have "everyone" (or at least th account u want to use) has both "Read" & "Read & Execute", it's related to MSVBVM60.DLL that the application needs to access when it initializes.
