Customer Statements (UK versions)

I was surprised to notice in another post that US versions of QB apparently have the option of selecting "all of the open transactions as of statement date" when producing customer statements, thereby showing only invoices with open balances.

I've been unable to find this option in QB Regular 2005 (UK), is it available in any UK versions? I'd always assumed that the way QB produces statements was how it was done in the US and that they just assumed that that would be how UK businesses did it. I find the 'standard' statements unusable as statements and have to perform all sorts of stupid workarounds using open balance reports exported into Excel. It makes my month ends a nightmare.

Is this feature available in QB 2006 or maybe in the Pro version?

I don't know the answer to your question, just wanted to agree with you that the statements are useless, and like you I have to perform daft workarounds to get something that looks like a real statement.

Some businesses prefer "open item" statements, others prefer "period" statements. Just because you favour one type does not mean that the other is useless. Nice thing about recent US and Canadian editions (Pro and Premier) is that you can prepare either format; I don't think this choice exists in the basic edition. I don't know about UK and other editions.

It would be nice to have the choice, I am on regular 2004, will try to find out if the 2005 pro version here in the UK allows it (unless anyone can confirm) I did try them once and none of my customers liked them and I can understand why, in 15 years of trading I've never received a statement in that form, maybe it's more common on your side on the pond.

I am in the UK and have 2005 pro. It has both options you refer to. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I've now pre-ordered 2006 Pro from Amazon.
