Problem emailing invoices-QB 2009 Pro

Anyone else have a problem emailing invoices/estimates through Quickbooks?

When I try to email QB goes through the motions to retrieve the QB registration information but just hangs while trying to connect. I have to use Task Manager to end the program.

Only change I've made is to add a new router/modem but every other program that used the internet is fine. I use Windows Live Mail for email but QB cannot use that program apparently so I go through QB for emailing.

Wild guess, the new router closed a port or tunnel that QB needs to phone home.

FYI: I just tried an Email of an Invoice. QuickBooks PRO 2009 (R12) on a Windows XP-SP3 machine. Used the QuickBooks mailing service. It worked fine.

Gary,

This isn't exactly what you asked about, but it may help.

I use an older version of QuickBooks and simply save the invoice as a .PDF and then send it as an attachment to a regular e-mail message to my customer. The PDF files are kept in a separate folder for future reference and easy retrieval.

If your e-mail program is working, then this should work for you.

Hope this helps.

Peter.

Since you are using XP I would try setting up Outlook Express to send the invoices through QB. As you discovered, WLM is not supported but OE is.
