QB2005 and Vista Home preminum 64 bit

I got it to work perfectly which i thought would be impossible!!! I do not remember all I had to do and the computer was returned so I removed it. Ordering a new puter tomorrow Vista Home Prem 64 bit and will get it going again and pay more attention as to what I did. Glad I did not give up and upgrade to QB2009 cause I only use 2005 for checking accounts. Dont give up and sorry if this is common knowledge. Larry

Why 64 bit? I'd think you'd run into too many programs that won't work with

64 bit Vista. I'd stick with 32 bit for fewer headaches.

Quick Books and Works are the omly programs I use. The new Comps come with Works free so all I needed was to get QB2005 working. I dont have a reason for 64 bit except that whats on the computer I an going to get. Larry

I remember the same arguments being said about moving from 16 bit to 32 bit.

Yes Sir, its me!!! QB for checking and Works spreadsheets for a few other things. I use QB because when I was in business it was the best. I like that I can look back a few years and see what I paid and to whom. Thats why I was happy to get it to work on Vista 64 bit. Did not wish to upgrade to

2009 just for checking. Larry

I do too. Most programs will not run properly on 64 bit. Maybe it is more of a Vista issue than the 64bit part of the equation but I subscribe to a number of computer lists and most people have not been able to get their 32 bit software to run properly on a 64 bit machine. I am very surprised that a program like QB2005 even runs on 32 bit vista won't have problems on a 64 bit machine.
