Quickbooks 2006 & Terminal Server & Multi Users

Does anyone know about the issues regarding multi users and QuickBooks

2006. I have heard that it does not work properly when running on a terminal server. We have in the process of testing before we go live with upgrading our terminal server to 2006 but I was wondering if the issues were true and what ( if any) fixes were avaiable.

Thanks in advance.

We are running QuickBooks 2006 on our terminal server with no problems. We had problems until we installed the R3 patch.

Thanks for the feedback. That helps a lot. I know that there is also a R4 patch out there that fixes some more issues for 2006.

There may be problems printing if you have two people simultaneously have the print dialog box open. This seems to have been the case with QBooks running on Terminal Servers for a long time.

Would this cause the print spooler to jam up and the terminal server to run real slow? I know that has happened to us before in theversion that we are running now. That is QB 2004.

The problem is related to QBooks creating a file in a shared directory whenever the print dialog box is opened. When the second user opens the dialog box there is an error msg that the file can't be accessed. Everything works fine when the dialog boxes are closed, and only one is opened at a time.

I have 2 users, and we have never seen the problem in our environment (we can recreate it if we try). However, as the numbers of users goes up, the chance of two users printing at the same time obviously goes up also.

Just installed yesterday, and so far no issues.

We used the 2006 QB Pro 5 user pack on a W2k server.

We don't do any local printing via TS, so I can't comment on that.

All the other functions appear intact.
