B of A One Step Update

I have this activated. I have two accounts with B of A. One Visa card and one 3 year CD. They claim online downloads are not available for the CD. Period. The direct connect download for my Visa card has worked once or twice in two years. Every other time I have had to log on via the web browser and download the statement. This seems especially annoying since on line updates according to the logo are "Powered by B of A". Almost every other insititution set for one step update always works fine.

There are numerous BoA accounts that don't support downloads. CD and trust accounts are 2 that I can think of at the moment so I am not surprised that you were told the CD won't download.

As for your credit card, it depends on the original company that held the credit card. BoA bought many credit card accounts and they all work differently. Mine is an old MBNA account that supported downloads prior to the conversion. It downloads as each transaction is posted. I had a client whose transactions would only download when the statement was posted. It was originally with a different company.

Have you talked to BoA about your credit card as to what type of download it supports? It sounds like it may only support web connect.

My AAA Visa was also originally with MBNA and it definitely did not support anything but statement downloads before conversion (this may have been when I was still using MSMoney, but that did do direct online downloads with, for example my Discover account).

As I mentioned. It has worked, once or twice, doing a direct connect download and all I got out of that was duplication of transactions from the previous statement download. I guess I should leave well enough alone and continue with just doing statement downloads and not attempt the direct downloads.

I have a credit card, not from BoA, that supposedly does not support direct connect. Somehow, after using the web connect method the program

*thought* the cc supported direct connect. It worked fine for several months until one day direct connect no longer worked so I was back to the web connect method.
