Multiple CDs at one FI...One step update can't work??

I have two institutions withj more than one CD. (Discover Bank and Ally bank). It does not appear possible for one step update to update these accounts even though it has been activated. I think it worked when I had just one CD, but is there any way for it to work with multiple CDs?

I think this might have implications that vary between FIs. In my case with my CU, *each* CD is a separate account; as opposed to Vanguard where different mutual funds are indeed held in the same account.

In the CU case, the account number has three digits that vary according to the type of account and specific instance. So for example, "I" is the code for CD, and one of my CD accounts is 234432-I01 and the other is 234432-I02.

Not sure if this helps you in any way, but the point is what works for one FI might not be the same for another.

I also have 2 at IngDirect (until Friday) and it doesn't work there either.
