Cleaning up split transactions

Apr 04, 2006 4 Replies

Hi.

Is there any way to delete blank lines, or for that matter unblank lines, in a split transaction? When I type in a payee, Quicken has the last previous entry memorized and brings it up automatically. That's great, but after a number of editing iterations the split entries are scattered all over the place.

Thanks, Paul

Yes - open the split window and select the line you want to delete. You should see an 'Edit' button in the memo field. Click on this and one of the drop-down choices is 'Delete'. Can also elect to Insert or Clear All.

Hi, Paul.

Or, just highlight the split line you want to delete and press +D.

Thanks much. I never would have guessed that.

Sometimes I wonder how Quicken is written - particularly, whether it relies on Java. Some parts of it are so clunky, especially the behavior of child windows; others are ok.
