I am currnetly usng Quicken Version 4 here in the UK and wanted to find an upgrade path to something more current.
I have located a copy of Quicken 6 (Deluxe) but cannot get it to accept my backups.
Am I flogging a dead horse or missing something simple!
What else can I try........

If you really talking about Quicken 4 (not 2004-?) and Quicken 6 (not
2006-?), then you had missed the boat. AFAIK, you cannot directly upgrade those old versions to any of the "current" ones (2004 and up). However, if you're using Quicken 4 and it does the stuff you need, why would you change anything? You see, the problem is that those old Quicken versions are not supported by Intuit any more, and not too many people use those any longer. So, it would be, I think, very hard to get troubleshooting and help on the specific problems you might have.
Of course, all of the above is irrelevant if you meant Q04...

Latest UK version is Quicken 2004 which I have just upgraded to from
2000. If you are a registered customer, Quicken will provide a FOC CD without the requirement to enter a CD key.
I got my Q 2004 from e-bay, registered it, then got the free CD from Quicken.
