Duplicate Discover transactions

I think this began when I upgraded to Q2012, but i'm not sure: but when I do an update of my discover account, about half the transactions are duplicates of old ones. Are others of you seeing this? Is there something I can do about it. [Kind of an annoyance to have to double check each downloaded transaction and delete a bunch of them].

I posted about this before. And I have asked Discover when they will have it fixed. All I get back is that it's a known problem on their end, they're working on it, but don't know when it will be fixed. After the second such answer I ripped them a new one in their survey of customer satisfaction. I think more people need to complain. Going to start a Facebook campaign in a minute.

There's nothing you can do about it, this problem has shown up with Visa and Mastercard accounts as well. Just be careful not to accept any of the duplicates and hope the problem gets resolved soon....

It's a known problem, caused by Discover. They know about it and are working on fixing it.

I know it's a Discover problem, but it seems so simple. How come they can't fix it? No other FI (that I am dealing with) has it! And it suddenly popped up some 6 weeks (??) ago and still hasn't been fixed.

I don't know, but BofA is also having the problem. And one or two other fi's are possibly having it too.

If it really were "simple" to fix, they'd have fixed it long ago.

This morning, there was 1 legit new transaction (plus the obligatory Tx with zero dollar amount). No duplicates. This is a good sign.

For me, it has been only Discover, I don't deal woth BofA. And how difficult can it be to keep track of unique Tx ID numbers? There have to be unique IDs, otherwise it would be impossible to track them down. But I'm NOT a banker .

I wish I had duplicates. I can't download anything by One Step Update, even after deactivating and reactivating Discover Bank. Started about a month ago. No error messages, but no updates.

Check your settings. I am talking about the Discover Card (credit card). The FI is, I believe, Discovercard. I am guessing that you have access to the website. There should be the info you need. Some time ago there was a message somewhere that the FI name is very important.

My problem is Visa through Chase bank.

I know I started having problems with duplicates well over a year ago and contacted them about it. There is no resolution so far....

Which Chase cards? I have a Freedom Visa and an Amazon Visa through Chase and for me, neither has a problem with duplicate transactions.

I am not having any problems with Chase, BofA, or any other cards. I solved the problem with Discover when I read the fine print, and discovered that their 1% rebate doesn't kick in until you charge %3,000. Until then, it is a tiny rebate.

AARP Chase was giving me 5% on everything, but all good things have to end. Chase Freedom gives me 1% on everything, including 5% on gas. BofA gives my 1% on everything, 2% on groceries, and 3% on gas. Discover doesn't have any transactions to miss or duplicate. simple solution!

Sorry. My problem is with the bank. I have had one or two duplicates in the credit card.

Chase VISA linked to my brokerage checking account (also through Chase.)
