Expiration of Quicken 2017 online services

I just received an email from quicken stating that my membership expires

12/09/2018. I thought that when I purchased 2017 Premier that it was good for three years. Did I mis-understand that?

I recall that past years I always did a three year update to maintain online services

It's possible you might have bought your copy of the product when Intuit owned Quicken (indeed, had a 3 year download capability). Since then, Quicken Inc. has changed their model, going to an annual membership fee. I'm not sure of the implications of what happens 'in stream' for those products that where in the middle years when this change occurred.

I am running 2017 purchased in 2017 and it still works. I have not received any such email.

Is it possible the email is a scam?
