Just upgraded

Just got TT Deluxe and Q07 Deluxe. So far, the upgrade (from Q06 Deluxe) was the easiest (and fastest) one so far. No problems and One Step worked as before. Neat that they give me an opportunity to rename payees after download.

I have a fairly large database and it was converted in record time....

I like the new interface. Only annoyance it their insistence on showing me "What's new in Quicken" every time I go to a different part of the program, ignoring the "Don't show...." checkbox...

I've always suspected that in most cases, they only have a single record that indicates the Quicken program year imbedded or perhaps (even worse case) a hidden data field within each transaction record. If the raw format of the data doesn't radically change from year to year (without knowing of course), I suspect they only 'convert' to force you not to be able to use a downleveled version on upleveled 'data'.

Especially in Q2007 which was primarily a 'bug fix' release.

Call me a skeptic. Doesn't take too long to read and rewrite all your data only updating a single field each year....

Like you, I too just went to Q07 and am happy with the transition.

I went with the Premier edition and the only bug I've found is that the app will not retain tool/button bar customizations after I exit the program. Everything else seems to behave predictably and quickly.
