Moving Transactions between accounts

Nov 30, 2006 3 Replies

I've got Quicken 2006 Premier and am trying to reorganize some accounts. I want to move all the transactions in one investment account to a different account set up for just one mutual fund. I'd rather not do it a transaction at a time since there are a lot. Is there any way to do a block move?

I did try to use the old QIF export/import but in their finite wisdom, Intuit has disallowed that.

Thanks, Max

Go to the first transaction, click once. Got to the bottom transaction, hold down SHIFT and click once. All transactions should be highlighted. Go to the Edit menu, go to transactions and then choose "Cut transactions." (Or, alternatively, with your mouse pointer in the middle of the highlighted transactions, RIGHT-click once and choose "Cut transactions" from that menu.) This puts all of those transactions in a buffer. You can then go to the new account and paste them into there.

Let me know if that doesn't work.

Oh, sorry about that. There's no way to simply create a new account and download the transactions from the FI's web site?
