Quicken with Turbo Tax

I went to Staples to pick up 2006 Turbo Tax and hoped for a bundle purchase with Quicken Deluxe (am using 2005 Deluxe) but the only offer available was with Quicken Basic. Bought it without Quicken anyway.

Include in the Turbo Tax package was a rebate offer that include all of the Quicken versions including Home and Business and the Mac version.

I don't know if this offer is exclusive with Staples or not but wanted to let everyone know about this.

The sales person at Staples was not aware of any other rebate except that for the Basic version of Quicken.

When I went to Staples, the TurboTax display had some Quicken Deluxe with a label saying $30 off on a piurchase with TurboTax. I bought them both. Quicken Deluxe a few cents under $60. The easy rebate printed at the register.

Sometimes Walmart has good prices without rebate hassles. Has anyone checked their deal?

I think the Staples deal this year is $44 for the TurboTax Deluxe, so that even with the rebate, it is $77 for the combined TurboTax Deluxe and Quicken Deluxe. I think that is much more than I remember it being at Staples in previous years.

You're right.... In previous years, Staples sold (for about a week) QD at a price that made it free after rebate. I also wish they would give something else besides a bottom level shredder. I mean, how many of these can you use?? :-)

But if they are truly bottom level, perhaps they expect them to break within a year, in which case you will need a new one every year. :>)
