Printer Setup

Whenever I print a report, Q displays a screen of printing setup options. However, the "Page Scaling" is always grayed out.

Is there any way to scale a printed report?

(The problem arose when a neighbor reported that his printed report had "Page" at the top right instead of "Page 1". etc.

The workaround was to increase the right margin, but I'll bet that that will cause lost of data on the left for some reports.)

Thanks.

Try narrowing some of the vertical columns....or even eliminating ones that you don't want. What about landscape mode?

Unfortunately, column width does not affect the placement of "Page n".

It's already in landscape.

No ideas about "Page scaling"?

Thanks.

I can do that with my printer which is a Canon 990. After displaying the report in Q2012, I select "Print". I then select the printer from the drop down menu - Canon 990. After that I select "Properties" and "Page Setup". On Page Setup, I see various layouts, one of which is "Scaled"' When I select "Scaled", I can reduce the scaling from 100% down. 90% usually is enough. My "Scaled" option is not grayed out when I use this procedure.

If this how you do it and your "Scaled" is grayed out, I don't know the answer. Is your "Scaled" option grayed out when you print from other programs?

His printer does not permit that.

It's "scaled" in Quicken, not in the printer options.

My guess is that Quicken is tied to the printer and if the printer won't allow Scaling, neither will Quicken`

My printer has "Fit to page". Perhaps Q doesn't recognize that?

You have to tell Quicken that is Fit-to-Page as follows:

Click on File uppeer left hand corner followed by Printer Setup, For Reports & Graphs, Select Printer, Properties, Page Set up, Fit-to-Page

See if that works

That adjusts my printer when Quicken uses it. Thanks.
