problem with downloads

Quicken 2006 in Windows

On principle, I do not like to register my software, so when Quicken asks me whether to register, I always choose "remind me later". It's been fine except that I now added some new investment accounts.

Now when I try to "update", a window asks me to register with no option to decline. If I select continue, it tries to open something like "C:\...user\... etc." and just stays stuck there. If I close that window (X on top right corner), no transaction download occurs. So I click on Update again and get a message to wait because an update is in progress! But it is not and this just repeats itself.

How do I get out of this quandry?

Thanks.

Jeff

Same problem here. As far as I know the information in unchecked and goes straight to their mail department for ??? Use your spam email so they can send you a one time confirmation. They claimed that they 'upgraded' to a release 4 - then again few positive things have changed in 15 years with Q.

Get over it ans learn to register your software. Quicken/Intuit won't spam you and all it gets you will be online upgrades, downloads and perhaps a notice when your version is being sunset.

Besides, you give fictional data if you're so inclined (mine are real, but they don't have my portfolio other than the stock names I'm interested in).

Simple, and the solution will eliminate the registration nag screens:

Hold down CTRL+SHIFT at the same time, click on the Online menu, choose "One Step Update" (while holding down CTRL+SHIFT). You should see a dialog appears which states that "you will no longer be prompted for registration".

Thank you very much. Worked like a charm!!
