Q 2007

Now time for the annual classic questions.

  1. First sighting , with date of purchase of Quicken 2007 Premier.

  1. Best deal on buying it. Give all the details.

  2. Will Costco sell Premier this year? Least year, just the basic and the business edition. I want Premier.

Let's see who spots and gets the new Quicken first.

And of course, all the dirty details of whats in our new edition

Hmmm..... I wonder what "Works even better with your bank for easier online banking" means.

I've downloaded. Converted from Q 2006 Premier to 2007 Premier. Was able to pick up two accounts in Direct Connect (a Bank of America - CA Credit Card and Target National Bank (their VISA).

For those that use Quicken Home Inventory - looks like it is now web based - or at least I need to go out and explore.

No problem thus far - just still kick> Now time for the annual classic questions.

Thanks for posting Tony, You say "web based"? What does that mean?

I think he means it looks like a web page but actually it's not - it's based on the .NET platform...

Ah, ok! Thanks - I was wondering if that meant the data had to be on the web, or the app was downloaded as a Java app, or ran inside a broweser, or what. I hope that I can still use my exisiting home inventory file and maybe they gave us the ability to export the data this time around? I'll be looking forward to seeing what it looks like.

I'd be able to tell ya if I paid attention during the beta but honestly it was the worse beta I've ever participated in so I can't say.

BTW, why is your news reader so horrible WRT quoting...?

OK, my knees are already getting weak...no matter how much I try to resist buying it until the first service pack is released, I know I'll end up buying the bloody thing right away.... arrrrgggghhh!!

I see Premier, H/B, and Deluxe 2007 on Costco.com, shipping August 7. Perhaps the warehouse locations will have the same.

Sorry "holy wares" are part of the territory! I use Thunderbird. It's not only cheap - *it's free!* And it works better.

I guess that's my point. OE needs a quote fixer because it breaks it.

I post in HTML and plain text (if any html elements are discovered). As for warnings of HTML, how many email/news readers have trouble with HTML anymore? In any event now *that's* a religious war that I've been in many times and quite frankly I refuse to participate in that non-sense anymore. Anybody wish to bitch at me about using HTML - you'll end up arguing with yourself.

Actually, only slightly. ;-)

I'm just amazed that Outlook and OE offer no good way to handle quoting.

I use QuoteFix too, and I think something happened to it in the last ... I can't remember how many ... months. It now always deposits my signature at the top of the post I start to reply to; it always used to follow its directions to put the signature at the bottom of the posts I replied to.

QuoteFix is "free": I guess we get what we pay for.

In the upgrade it references you to a website (quickenhomeinventory). New product costs $30. Existing application appears to be unchanged.

It appears the most Web Connect Accounts can now be updated via One Step Update. I am having problems setting up ETrade Bank and MBNA American. One the ones I have set-up - WAMU for example, I have performance problems in which it takes 2 minutes (guess) for it to accept the transaction.

All for now....

Question for you Oilcan -- I see you mentioned WAMU. Have you been having any problems with downloads from them? I have Q2006 and have started having a problem with it. Since they "updated" (screwed up) their website, I can't get downloads to work without going in to my accounts and deactivating - reactivating them. Hold times for tech support are horrendous so I came here to ask about it.
