I moved up from Q2011 a couple of months ago. I suppose it might have asked for a password the first time I fired it up, but as I said, I tend to forget stuff like that.
Oh goodie.
I just downloaded today's closing quotes and wasn't asked. If it only pops up every few months, I won't sweat it.

John, I did not get prompted for my Intuit ID until very recently, after using V2014 for weeks, if not months. Same file, nothing changed that I'm aware of. Any ideas? It only asked once,so it's not a problem, just a curiousity.

I've read of that a couple of times, but I have no idea why it would occur.
The whole "online" area of Quicken is flaky in Q2014 (I have Premier, and that is where I see the online issues).
It appears that the online area received some development attention for this version, but not enough time was left to wring out all of the bugs.
Hopefully, the crashes and other non-deterministic behavior will be fixed without having to upgrade to 2015. Or maybe that was Intuit's plan, put so many bugs in 2014, then fix them only in 2015.....
