Quicken and Uninstalling

Apr 23, 2013 0 Replies

I decided to install Q-2013 on my Win 8 laptop, that had never had Quicken on it before.

First, I ran a scan for Quicken with RegScanner. Came up with zero entries as one would expect.

Then I installed Q-2013 R1 from my CD. That was fine except that it asked for a reboot, something I did not expect.

I then ran RegScanner and it found 2772 instances of Quicken. (!!!)

Next, I executed Q and stocked it from a backup file..

Next, I updated it to R12. Unlike on my desktop, the update went fine. RegScanner found 2813 items.

Since Q was working fine, I decided to uninstall it. I used "Advanced Uninstaller" with its registry cleaner. Then I ran CCleaner's registry cleaner. Finally, I ran QCleanUI.

RegScanner found only 78 instances of Quicken.

These results are very different from what I found on my desktop machine.

I'm stumped.
