Restoring QuickBooks2001 QBB into QuickBooks2005

Apr 19, 2005 2 Replies

I have a new PC with QuickBooks 2005 and I'd like to restore my company data from my old PC that had QuickBooks 2001. I have 4 .qbb files on a floppy disk that I have copied to the new hard drive.

In QuickBooks 2005, when I click "File-Restore" and follow the prompts I get to a screen where it asks for the backup source file where I've selected the first of 4 .qbb files from the hard drive. Then it asks for the target .qbw file which I selected as well. (I created a new company from scratch on the new PC).

Finally when I click the restore button nothing happens! No error messages nothing.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks, Howie

Howie, Quickbooks and Quicken has nothing to do with one another except that both are produced by Intuit. Perhaps you should ask Quickbook-related questions in a Quickbooks forume?
