Vanguard downloading problems again

Again, I started receiving error messages about Vanguard downloading information for accounts that no longer exist. Also been receiving pop ups from within Quicken about Vanguard mucking around with account numbers as well.

I might try REMOVING and REACTIVATING these accounts from Vanguard's OSU and see what happens. The account numbers that Quicken is displaying that I have Vanguard accounts when I tried doing this for just one of them do see accurate now. See we'll see and I'll repost.

Vanguard is changing all the brokerage account numbers as the bring brokerage in house.

As of today, my account on the Vanguard page has the new number, but my quicken download used the old number.

Sadly, Vanguard has not told quicken users what to expect during the transition.

Turns out that a Vanguard account that I hold in my accounts with them is really an account (UGMA) for my daughter - so that might be the cause of the "Attempting to download data for a Quicken account that does not exist"problem I have since I have a completely separate Quicken account for just my daughter. Although for the many years I had this account under my Vanguard account list it's never caused a problem in the past. (Seems like I can't tell Quicken NOT to download just this one account even though it has a separate account number)

As it turns out, she is now over 21 anyway and I'm giving her control of the vast sums (how can Quicken handle such a huge balance :-) ) of $ that are in there so this might solve that problem once the paperwork clears from their end.

Hi, Marc.

Bank of America did the same (or similar) thing to my Merrill Lynch account after the takeover - and also without warning to me. See my one-message thread, "Merrill Lynch Account Number Changed?", 4/29/09.

I understand and don't really mind that they changed my 30-year-old number. But they should at least have informed me! And they should have told me BEFORE the day that I looked at my account online and saw it had a ZERO balance!
